34th Surajkund International Crafts Fair 2020

President Ram Nath Kobind to inaugurate 34th Surajkund International Crafts Fair on February 1, 2020 Faridabad, Haryana.

This year’s fair partner country Uzbekistan And Himachal Pradesh Was the theme-state.

The fair is organized by Surajkund Fair Authority and Haryana Tourism in collaboration with the Union Ministry of Tourism, Textiles, Culture and External Affairs. The fair will be helpful in the development of tourism.

Hundreds of artists from Himachal Pradesh will perform multiple folk arts and dances. About 30 countries will participate in this fair.

The Surajkund International Crafts Fair was organized for the first time in 1987 to showcase the richness and diversity of India’s handicraft, weaving and cultural heritage.

The central government aims to achieve the Housing for All by 2022 under PMAY-G

Flame-throated Bulbul ‘Rubigula’ Official Mascot for Goa 2020 National Games

The official mascot of Goa 2020 National Games was unveiled by Goa Chief Minister Promod Sawant on 01 February 2020 in the presence of Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Kiren Rijiju.

The Flame-throat bulbul Goa is the state bird.

Goa will host the 36th edition of the National Games from 20th October to 4th November 2020.

The first domestic bio-jet-powered IAF aircraft has successfully landed in Leh

The Indian Air Force (IAF) has successfully operated AN-32 aircraft powered by a blend of 10% Indian bio-jet fuel.

The plane took off from Kushok Bakula Rimpochi AirportLeh and its performance was verified at Chandigarh Air Base before commencement of operational flight to Leh.

Bio-jet fuel is made from inedible ‘Tree Born Oil’. These are grown and collected from the tribal areas of Chhattisgarh.

The government has appointed M Ajit Kumar as the new chairman of the CBI

The central government has appointed M Ajit Kumar as chairman of the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC).

M Ajit Kumar is a 1984 batch IRS (Indian Revenue Service) officer.

He will replace Pranab Kumar.

The WHO has declared the coronavirus a global health emergency

The World Health Organization has declared an international state of emergency over a new coronavirus from China. The agency declared a state of emergency because the disease has spread to 18 countries other than China, where it originated.

At least 213 people have died from the virus in China, mostly in Hubei, with about 10,000 cases nationally.

Bank of Baroda says it has signed an agreement with CARE Rating to evaluate the credit quality of its Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) customers.

The rating agency will evaluate the credit value of the bank’s existing and potential SME customers.

Arvind Krishna of Indian descent has been elected the new CEO of IBM

Arvind Krishna, of Indian descent, has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the International Business Machine Corporation (IBM), an American multinational IT company.

Arvind Krishna is currently IBM Senior Vice President for Cloud and Cognitive Software and Ginny Rometti’s successor.
